Brownie!

Last night we took Madden to Build-a-Bear as his reward for using the potty. He had so much fun. He picked a cute little dog and dressed him in fishing clothes with cowboy boots and hat. Madden named him Brownie and they are best buds. So far, they have done everything together today. Madden even put a pair of his underwear on Brownie so that he could be a big boy too.

8 months old!

I can hardly believe my little baby girl is 8 months old already. Here are a few things about Halle:
- She loves to play with her toes
- She loves to eat watermelon
- She has no teeth
- She sits, crawls, and pulls up
- She loves to play with her brother
- She puts everything in her mouth
- She loves anything to do with water, pools, baths, or washing hands and face after a messy meal
- She has discovered that she can pull her headbands off her head and that they taste pretty good
- She loves to spit and make motorboat noises
- She loves to play outside
- She is not a fan of the vaccuum
- She loves all fruits and most veggies, except for green veggies
- She still wakes up 2 times in the night
- She is bald, except for a little blonde peach fuzz
- Her eyes are still changing, somedays they look blue, other days they look brown
- She loves to be up-side-down

Dear $15 potty chair,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are the best $15 I have ever spent. Why? You convinced Madden to go #2 on you. Had I known that he would do it in a potty chair, I would have purchased you 8 months ago. We are so excited to have you in our home. Now, Madden can have his knight costume. Now, Madden can go to Build-a-Bear. Now, Madden can go visit Grandma Cindy. Now, Madden can have his fruit by the foots. Now he can go to preschool. We bribed him with everything under the sun (luckily he forgot about the kitten we tried to bribe him with, whew!) It's been 8 months since he last did his business in anything but a pull-up. I am so excited to change fewer diapers. When Matt suggested that we buy you, I was skeptical. I thought that if he wouldn't do it for a kitten then he just wouldn't ever do it. But I was wrong! You changed my life! Madden told me that he was going to stop wearing diapers 3 days before Christmas. I was convinced that I would have to wait until then. Finally, he can be a big boy! Thank you!
Sincerely,
A relieved mother

diaper count
Madden - 4
Halle - 5
That's a total of 9 stinky diapers today and it's not even 2 pm. At this rate, I'll run out of diapers by dinner time.

raspberries
Yesterday, we went to Green Bluff to pick raspberries. It wasn't one of the best ideas I have ever had. I went by myself and pushed the stroller through the raspberry patches while coraling a 3 year old that was done picking berries after about 10 minutes. Luckily he found a clover just like Horton and was able to use his imagination about his own little spec to keep him entertained. Looking back, it was all worth it.
This is what Halle did while we picked berries. She loves to play with her feet!

Today, Madden and I made jam. It was messy but totally worth it. I'll probably do another batch of jam tonight when I get more containers. I also bought a box of peaches. Cobbler anyone?!
The finished product! This was my first time making jam with out the help of my mom or mother-in-law. I think it turned out pretty good!

Our little Linc!
I've been a little emotional today because of a sweet boy named Lincoln. They are happy emotionals, even though it brings tears to my eyes. Two years ago yesterday, my sister in law gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Lincoln. Two days later, he returned to live with Heavenly Father. That sweet boy touched my life in so many ways. A few weeks ago, Madden saw a picture of Lincoln and asked who he was. I told him Lincoln's story. A few days after that, I heard him telling his baby sister about their cousin Lincoln that lives with Heavenly Father. He said, "Babe, some day we can play with Lincoln and with Heavenly Father." That's exactly right! Some day, we will see him again! And that will be a beautiful day!
