Madden has recently started to play "pretend" and I absolutely love it. It's so fun to see where his imagination takes him. This is his super sleuth costume equipt with scarf, magic wand, hat, flash light and cape. He was chasing a monster named Fred who was hiding on our front porch. He is such a cute kid!

Yesterday after Halle pooped for the 5th time Madden and I had a little conversation. It went something like this.

Madden: Holy Crud (his new favorite phrase) baby sister, you need to put your poopies in the potty like a big boy.
Me: Madden, do you use the potty?
Madden: No, not yet.
Me: When are you going to use the potty?
Madden: Three days before Christmas.

I sure hope that he doesn't wait until then to use the potty again.

I taught Madden how to use the mouse a few days ago. He is loving his computer time. The poor kid is left handed so he struggles a little bit with our right-handed mouse but he doesn't care, he's just happy to be playing computer games.

the feelings are mutual

 

Madden has been in love with Halle since before she was born. He is alwasys loving on her and kissing her. After church Sunday, he whispered in her ear, "I missed you babe!" The first thing he says in the morning is "Where's my baby sister?" When he colors a picture or builds a tower, he make sure to show it to his sister. He always makes sure she has her mimi and blanket. He is more than ready to share his toys with her. He is the best big brother ever!

This is my good friend Shauna's little guy, Trezdon. He's 4 months older than Halle. We are certain that they will be the best of friends!

This is one of my favorite outfits. I think she just looks adorable in it. The pants are still a little bit too big but I don't care. Halle slept from 10:00 pm to 5:30 am again last night. She is such a good sleeper and a good baby!

Madden had a blast playing with all of his cousins in Kansas City. I hardly saw him because he was so busy having fun. We spent one day at the outlet mall where we went to the T-Rex restaurant. He loved that. He was a little scared the first time the dinosaurs came to life but he soon got over that. He also got to play at all of his cousins houses. He keeps asking to play with them all again. Both kids were so good on the plane too. I was a little nervous to fly by myself with 2 kids but it actually went really well. Madden was a great helper and Halle slept most of the way.

While I was in KC, we decided to take a family picture. Unfortunately, Matt wasn't able to participate but thought we still needed to take advantage the opportunity.

Here she is again. She started smiling a few days ago. I'm still working on getting a picture of it. Everytime I get the camera out, she decides to not smile.

I started work again this week. So far, so good. I haven't really done much yet except for cleaning up my emails. I do miss just being able to do what I want all day long, but as soon as I get the kids back into the routine, I'll have some free time on my hands again. I also need to convince Madden that he has to take a naps again. That could be a challenge.

10:30 pm - 6:00 am

That's how long Halle slept last night. I haven't slept that long since the second trimester of my pregnancy. She is such a good baby. This is her longest stretch yet. She usually does a 5-6 hour stretch but she was especially nice to her mommy last night. Good job Halle-bear! Keep it up!

This is my niece Abbie! She is adorable! I can't wait for she and Halle to play when they are a bit older. They will have so much fun together.

Madden climbed up on the couch next to me and asked if he could hold his baby. A few seconds later, they were both asleep. They look so precious together. I have been so blessed to have two wonderful children. They are so amazing. I don't know what I'd do without them.
