growling tigers!

baby tigers!

Matt and his dad treat the owner of a place called Cat Tales. They raise all sorts of cats and rescue them too. We got to help feed the baby tigers today. They were so adorable. There are 2 boys and 2 girls. They are about 5 weeks old and weigh 10-13 pounds. They have the cutest little growls too. I'll download that video for you all later. We also got to see a leopard and a lynx up close. So fun!

Christmas morning!

Christmas with a 2 year old is always an adventure. Madden just wanted to open presents. It didn't matter what the presents were as long as there were more presents for him to open. After all were opened, he decided to play with his new cars.

an uncooperative sheep...

Madden was the sheep during the family nativity production on Christmas Eve. He wasn't exactly the best sheep but he was still cute. He ran around the room yelling "Santa bring more presents" while the other kids put on the nativity.

a weekend in Seattle

Matt's advertising guy gave him some Seahawks tickets a couple of weeks ago so we decided to take a trip to Seattle. We stayed in a beautiful hotel in downtown Seattle just across the street from the Seahawks and Mariners stadiums. We had a great view. We also took a trip to my new favorite store, IKEA. We picked up a few new things for the house.

Matt and Madden outside of the Mariner's stadium.

Madden slept through the entire game. He stayed awake long enough to see the hawk fly across the field and then he crashed. He didn't even get a chance to beg for cotton candy.

We had awesome seats, 35 yard line, 30 rows back.

for Aunt Laura and Uncle Peter

Madden and I were reading a nursery rhyme book which includes "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater". On this page, there is a picture of a girl sitting in a pumpkin and a boy standing next to the pumpkin. As I started to read, he stops me and says "Laura in the pumpkin, Peter in the pumpkin, candy in the pumpkin with Laura, Laura eat the candy in the pumpkin, Peter Laura candy Madden's house." It's funny how a 2 year-old's mind works!

Tonight we went to a wrestling match. Madden loved it, for the first 15 minutes, then he just wanted to climb on the bleachers. He cheered as loud as he could. We taught him to yell "take down" "pin him" and his favorite "go pumas go". I told Matt he needed to teach him a few moves.

good memories

I was having myself a little homesick moment so I took some time to look at old pictures on my computer and these brought a smile to my face, along with a few tears. These are such precious pictures. We took these the day I came home from the hospital with Madden. Grandpa had been having some heart episodes and we weren't sure how much longer he would be around. So we made a special trip just to see them. I just love watching them hold babies. Grandma has so much joy on her face. This is how I like to remember both of them!

thanksgiving in Utah

We went to Utah for Thanksgiving and I just realized that I didn't take a single picture the entire trip. But, my sister-in-law Laura took tons of pictures and posted them on her blog. Check it out: www.lpmcdavitt.blogspot.com.

my beautiful new floors!

It looks like it will be another couple of weeks before I'll get to use them. Our builder has decided to take his time.

snowy spokane!

We had our first snowfall here in Spokane. After a trip to Target for the essential boots, snowpants, and gloves, we're ready to play in the snow. Too bad it only lasted 10 minutes before Madden's hands got too cold. After warming up for a while, we went back out to do some sledding with his cousins.

The house!

Here's the house! They should be done painting in the next couple of days, then flooring, and the finishing touches. Then we finally get to move in!

This is a picture of the football field in our backyard.

Trick or Treat!

Donald Duck was a big hit! He looked so cute. The hat kept falling down, but he let us know every time if fell off.

Madden and his cousin, just before heading out to trick or treat!

Just the boys!

Madden loved his pumpkin. He's been carrying it around since we got it. Each door we went to, we would have to prompt him to say "trick or treat" and then "thank you." But, he would then announce "i have candy in my punkin."

High School Musical Party!

My Brother Danny will probably disown me for this but....just so his students at BYU know, he has officially seen High School Musical. I guess that his students were giving him some grief because he had not seen it yet. While we were in KC we took care of that with an official HSM party, including a family session of HSM karaoke in which Danny sang for Troy because he was the only boy there. So, I hope that somehow, this post will be made known to his students. Although, if he never finds out, then I know he never reads my blog. Love ya Dan!
