we love CARS!

Madden loves his cars. Everyday, he lines them all up on the stairs so he can play with them and count them. Just yesterday I heard a little conversation between 2 of the cars. It went a little like this:

Mr. The King: "No pushing Mater, that's not nice for our friends. Time out for you. "
Mater: "I sorry. I go time out."
Mr. The King: "Stay in time out. That's a no-no."
Mater: " I sorry I give hugs."

Then just yesterday, Madden put me in time out because I spilled flour on the floor and made a mess. Who's in charge?

Madden and Jekiah

This is Madden with our neighbor Jekiah. I watched my neighbors kids on Friday while she went on a little trip without kids. Yeah for her! The kids had a blast. Here the boys are playing Night-night! When it was actually time for naps, they weren't too excited to be going Night-night! These 2 guys will have lots of fun together, as soon as they learn to play together. Now, the just play in the same room and fight over toys but I am certain that they'll be inseparable someday.

helping mommy clean house

We had intentions of going to story time at the library today but the library was closed b/c today is president's day. So instead we decided to clean house. Madden loves to wash windows and he is actually pretty good at it. I have the cleanest sliding glass door, at least the lower half of it. He can only reach so high!

If you look closely at the picture in the top right corner, you can see the pile of dirt and rocks in my back yard. Madden calls it baby jaguar mountain. Everyday, he begs and begs to play on baby jaguar mountain. Usually I can convince him that it's too cold but soon it's going to be nice out and he's going to really want to play outside. I just hope that our builder can get our lawn as soon as the snow melts and it warms up a bit! Happy President's Day!

veggies

Here is proof that Madden actually does eat vegetables. If you look closely, he has a carrot in his hand and one in his mouth.
Uh, Oh, what's he doing?

He's giving the carrot back. Then he told me, "you eat it mommy!"

madden...not smiling for the camera

I can not convince Madden to smile for the camera. Below, he was saying "cheese", not the most attractive facial expression. Maybe with Matt's help I can get a smile out of him.

Madden has been obsessed with Cars for about a month now. The other day, we got stuck behind a train and now, we are obsessed with Thomas the train again. It's so funny how fast his interests change. These are all pictures of him playing with his train tracks.

feeling domestic!

I think this is the prettiest jello I have every made.

I also made some of my mom's famous sweet rolls with cream cheese frosting. The crescent rolls were wonderful too. They are so yummy and buttery. I have already had 4 today!

the long awaited virtual tour of our house!

Madden with his goggles. He pretty much wears them all day, just in case he needs them.

This is the entrance by the garage. There is also a door to the basement and a door to the half bath and laundry. I would have taken a picture of the half bath but Madden locked me out of it today. Hopefully Matt will be able to pick the lock when he comes home.

family room

Love this couch!

This is the best to rock a baby in. My mom upholstered it for us before we left KC and it perfectly matches our couch.

my office

I love this desk. It is just perfect. It has enough room for both of my work laptops and my printer and plenty of stoage space. I can also put things up where Madden can't reach them. This is a huge improvment to my old office, a pile of paperwork and computers on the floor. I accomplish so much more now that I have a desk, at least I think I do.

This is my cool new picture that I got when we went to IKEA a couple months ago. I love it! love it!

living room

Here is our formal living room. It's not very formal yet, it's just a dumping ground for extra furniture. Someday we'll make it pretty.

This is the view from the living room into the kitchem and family room.

madden's room and the other room

Here is a picture of the extra bedroom. I basically just store the stuff that I haven't unpacked yet. And we keep a pack n play up in here for when friends come to play and need a nap.

Here is Madden's room. This is his "big boy bed", he fell out a few times the first night so we got a rail so we could all get some sleep.

He loves to play in his room. We keep quite a few of his toys in there so he doesn't drag them all over the house.

the master bedroom and bathroom

My lovely master bath, the other bathroom upstairs is a mirror image so I didn't take a picture of it.

Our new bed, we still have pictures to hang in here but you get the idea.

My closet, with room to spare! I'm sure I can fill it up pretty fast though.
